Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th in 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her first EP under the label Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she gained her first notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012, when she released her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her music online in 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. released on the 21st of July. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. Then, later in the season, the music circulated around Dreamville. In December 2008, it was revealed that Rihanna had signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she performed together with Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The singer released Pho, her debut EP on the 21st of October the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and also performed as the opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. She also appeared in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video then released in September. On the 9th November the singer released two more singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013, she dropped No One as well as Pedigree. She then appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February 2019 for her debut album the same title. It was released with an accompanying music video that debuted in February 20th, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views via YouTube within its first seven days. She was the supporting act for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
